Warehouse Fee
A charge that is passed on to the broker by the warehouse lender as a premium for providing the funds necessary to close a loan. This occurs when the prime rate of interest in higher on short term loans than on mortgage loans. Additionally, warehouse banks receive a Per Diem interest from the broker until the loan is purchased off the warehouse line. A warehouse line typically only holds the loan for several days.
