| Tenancy by the Entirety |
|
When a married couple owns a home, it is usually considered tenancy by the entirety if the property must be sold to pay the debts of one spouse; this must be agreed by both spouses. To this effect, tenancy by the entirety differs from joint tenancy in that the spouses cannot function on an individual basis. Tenancy by the entirety is only available to married couples.
