Loan to Value (LTV)

The ratio of the amount borrowed (mortgage loan principal) to the property's appraised value (selling price.) The LTV is calculated by dividing the loan amount by the property value.

Example

On a $500,000 home with a mortgage loan of $100,000:

$100,000 / $500,000 = .20 x 100% = 20%
