Front-end Fee
A commission fee paid to the mortgage broker by a borrower when they purchase a mortgage loan. The front-end fee is generally added to the initial payment. This is why most all initial mortgage payments are higher than the later payments.

The purpose of a front-end fee is to cover the administrative and transaction expenses on the side of the mortgage broker.
