Assisted Care Facility

A type of health care property consisting of multiple residential units which occupy people in need of medical / social care. Assisted care facilities are also equipped with the resources to provide these residents such medical equipment.

  • Assisted care facilities are different from nursing homes in that their residents only require help with some activities of daily living, instead of a nursing home's 24-hour nursing care.
  • Assisted care facilities do not provide extensive medical care or rehabilitative programs to their residents.
