Net Operating Loss

A company's operating income after deducting all operating expenses but before deducting income taxes and interest.

These operating expenses include but are not limited to: maintenance, supplies, insurance, accounting, janitorial, management, etc.

A positive value is referred to as a Net Operating Income (NOI), while a negative value is referred to as a Net Operating Loss (NOL).
