Manufactured Home

As defined by the National Flood Insurance Program: "a structure, transportable in one or more sections, which is built on a permanent chassis and is designed for use with or without a permanent foundation when attached to the required utilities".

  • Manufactured Homes are typically produced in factories and then later moved to a permanent site and used as permanent housing.
  • "Recreational Vehicles" are not covered under the definition of Manufactured Homes.
  • Manufactured Homes are usually located in Manufactured Housing Parks.

Bankapedia's Take

When financing a manufactured home, the first question a lender will typically ask is whether or not you have a permanant foundation. Manufactured homes with perm foundations will be much easier to get financed.
